As a medical practitioner, Doug provides a unique and valuable perspective to Metabolic Precision. With an intimate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology, he is able to apply a medical professionals' perspective for Metabolic Precision, often by way of assisting in determining the needs and modifications required for more complex clients.

Doug's professional interests in addition to undertaking specialist training in psychiatry, include the effects of illness (physical and mental) on exercise performance and body metabolism, including implementing evidence based nutritional and supplementation strategies to overcome these. Dr Doug is a firm believer that a healthy mind, and healthy body are both required to optimise overall health and performance. Further to this, Doug is particularly passionate about delivering high quality healthcare to those living in rural, regional and remote areas, with a special interest in eating and body image disorders.

Upon graduating from medical school, Doug was awarded the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Physicians Prize in Clinical Medicine, and currently holds a position as a Clinical Lecturer with Deakin University School of Medicine, and as an Honorary Research Associate with St Vincent's Mental Health Service".  Read Dr. Doug's articles here.
